EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Purpose of this funding request is to inform specific NON-PROFIT Groups about an opportunity to provide money and developmental expertise to a potential NON-PROFIT GROUP called Jefferson Adams Townhall Organization (applying J-ATO-501C3 ). Its purpose is to use the INTERNET to provide established Neighborhood Associations across the United States the ability to act together , improve participation in our democratic processes and enhance development in some foreign countries.
J-ATO wants to:
1.)create free Internet based Neighborhood Home Pages for each neighborhood in America. These home pages will provide residents
a.) inter and intra neighborhood e-polling, e-voting and e-debating on issues they feel important,
b.) software to support association maintenance
c.) listings of the current agenda of local and national governmental bodies (public hearings etc) including the ability to collectively and electronically inform politicians about their concerns.
We consider this political interface a meaningful balancing effort to the hard and soft Money contributions to political campaigns and synergistic to the goals of Campaign Finance Reform.
2.)secure funding for the development and testing of this Internet system and a possible self sustaining NEW source of funds for Neighborhood Associations. Once Network use and usefulness has been proven, J-ATO wants to provide two options for continued system maintenance:
a.) Federal/Local Government contributions and
b.) a Neighborhood based Internet program to give residents the ability to accrue funds by the electronic purchase of "Historically Standard" textile items from new manufacturers in Third World countries.
3.)assist new manufacturers in Third World countries willing to:
a.) contribute "%of Sale" donations to the purchasers Neighborhood Association while concurrently keeping prices competitive
b.) report their CURRENT EMPLOYMENT ROSTER AND POLICIES and
c.) produce a small attached product logo indicating Country and Village
d.) allow maintenance e-mails by employees
.
(Historically Standard textiles include: jeans, underwear, etc currently manufactured by many corporations(95% currently overseas) using historic guidelines (about 200 items)..
A reminder: JATO policy, finances, software and administration are controlled jointly by Neighborhood residents or proxy (by Vote)to Neighborhood officers.
The Opportunity
J-ATO believes that the country/world has a unique opportunity to use the INTERNET to promote social interaction and possible changes. It is the opinion of many that technology has negatively affected society by stifling normal human interaction and fostering alienation. It is likely that this situation will worsen as computer technology allows more people to work from home. J-ATO believes that average people need to discuss ideas, particularly those ideas that jointly effect their daily lives. A neighborhood centered Internet Home Page with e-voting ,e-polling and e-debating capability could serve as a daily outlet (using any free time) for such ideas. These expectations could be mingled with other communities and easily passed to governmental representatives. In addition, it may be possible for neighborhoods to accrue monies to help stabilize property values, attempt neighborhood farming, contribute funds to REC centers, etc. etc. This combination of expressing an individual's concerns and providing funds for Neighborhood projects (see # 3 above) will be an extremely powerful combination.
Will selling direct save large amounts of cash RESULTING IN REBATES TO BUYERS' NEIGHBORHOODS?
A Reminder:
In 1971,when president Nixon removed U.S. GOLD as money and promoted each governments ability to establish currency, third world countries began to sell us labor-cheap goods also establishing a permanent TRADE IMBALANCE. The reduced ability to use local currency to effectively purchase structural material lead to tragedies like BANGLADESH and established a slave-like atmosphere.
ARE WE STILL DEDICATED TO THE PROPOSITION THAT........
